My name is Chanelle, not Chantelle.

It's always hard to know where to start. I identify as a white, cis, upper-working class female, I've got it pretty easy, I know. But don't you worry - to add to the spice of life, I was born without fingers on my left hand; into a family that has been fragmented and reassembled in as many ways as you could imagine. Like many people I know (I think we gravitate towards each other, or maybe it's just a millennial thing) I live with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. As a way of managing this, I have thrown myself into long-distance running. I'm a magnet for awkward situations and embarrassing moments, which have provided my friends with a plethora of entertaining anecdotes.

As you can probably already tell, I've got a lot to say, so I decided to start a blog.
